Hello and Welcome!
I am a college teacher, a sports nut, and a dad.
At the time I learned of the '51 Dons football team the baseball steroid scandal was making headlines almost every day. I was upset that this episode and its emphasis on winning at any cost was overshadowing what I considered to be the value of sports. I didn't want my son to grow up thinking that camaraderie, supporting teammates, honor, and integrity were not important in athletics.
So, I decided to write a book about the '51 Dons to remind kids, parents, and everyone else that sports participation means a lot more than getting whatever you can for yourself.
