Begin: March, 2008
Launch: June, 2010

This project could not have happened were it not for:
My son...whose good nature and love of sports motivated me.
My wife...who can see clearly when I'm in a fog.
Tamsen Bryon...my super-duper designer, advisor, and good friend.
Jaime Rincon...perceptive dad and kids' soccer coach.
Sam Macintosh...teacher and terrific editor
Stanley Inkelis, M.D....a sports nut with great suggestions for a budding children's author.
Steven Robman...the best of friends and project cheerleader.
Erica Zappy...generous purveyor of advice and encouragement.
Doc Edlin...the best of the good hearted and, luckily, my good friend.
Anne-Marie Devine...a fine representative of the University of San Francisco.
Kristine Clark...whose tireless efforts kept alive the story of the '51 USF Dons.

Why I wrote this book (6.29.10)
I am a college teacher and college textbook author.  This is my first book for kids.  I got the idea for the book at the height of the baseball steroids scandal in '08.  I didn't want kids to think that all sports was about was winning (and cheating to do so).
